I do agree that this game is more linear and kind of lacks the thrill of seeing new places. Not as much grinding as DD, where you need to get a scrub fresh off the cart, play several missions with them taking stress breaks between missions, and buying all their skills and equipment with your limited cash. You have unlimited level ups and can easily make a new minion and bring it to that level with a brain.

Ain't like DD, where bosses ignore all position mechanics and just do what they want. Remember in DD how characters have only one picture regardless of whether they get hit or dodge? In this, characters actually move when they get hit and have additional animations for if the hit forces position changes.Ĭertain enemies can attack from certain positions. Positioning system is stupidly broken, bc baddies can always attack from ANY position.Īnd I have the reverse opinion, where I think Darkest Dungeon lacks polish and has lots of balance issues.Īttacks have plenty of weight and feel.

I for my part find the slow but steady approach of Iratus way more enjoyable. There is 1 major thing that sets apart DD and Iratus so much, that those games are utterly incompareable beyond their overall set up: Luck.ĭD is way more random, so depending whether you like RNG dictating your performance more or less (RNG WILL kill your best squad and it WILL bring your campaign to full halts), you will like Iratus or DD.
